Hawk Watch AE Day 6
Mama hawk has taken to being on her nest most the time, she leaves for brief periods (minutes) and Dad takes over nest duties. So on this uneventful day, I went out to find some more birds and found this juvenile eagle squeaking away, looking for Mom or Dad, I stayed until sundown and never saw the parents return. Perhaps he's on his own now and lonely ;-) I also got a few photos of a heron feeding her young after she attempted to disturb a neighboring heron who was nesting.
